Is the iPad Pro 13" M4 Worth It?
Our honest take after thorough analysis.
The iPad Pro 13-inch with M4 is the most advanced tablet ever made. The tandem OLED display is breathtaking, the M4 chip delivers incredible performance, and the Apple Pencil Pro unlocks new creative possibilities. However, iPadOS remains the limiting factor — it's still not a full laptop replacement for everyone. For creative professionals, students, and media consumers, it's the best tablet money can buy. If you need desktop-class multitasking, also consider a MacBook Air.
- M4 chip delivers laptop-class performance in a tablet
- Tandem OLED display is stunning for HDR content and creative work
- Incredibly thin and light at 5.1mm and 1.28 lbs
- Apple Pencil Pro is a genuine creative tool
- iPadOS still limits true desktop multitasking
- Expensive with accessories (iPad + Pencil + Keyboard = laptop territory)
- No headphone jack
- 128GB base storage is low at this price

Replaced my laptop for creative work
I'm a digital illustrator and this iPad Pro with M4 and Pencil Pro has replaced my Wacom + MacBook setup. The tandem OLED display is color-accurate and gorgeous. Procreate runs buttery smooth even on 300dpi canvases.

The M4 is ridiculously fast for a tablet. The display is the best I've seen on any device. But iPadOS still frustrates with file management and multitasking. Close to laptop replacement but not quite there.
As a medical student, this is perfect. GoodNotes with Pencil Pro for notes, split-screen with textbooks, and Sidecar as a second Mac display. One device replaces all my paper and books.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know.
For creative professionals, students, and media consumers, yes. The M4 + Magic Keyboard handles most workflows. For software development or heavy file management, a MacBook is still better due to macOS.
